Trends change with regularity, the designs we see online, in print and generally around in the world move on – they have to to keep us all interested, to keep things fresh and to move alongside the way we are talking to people. The falvours of this month or this year take steps forwards and backwards as well – we are all familiar with those retro moments. Content is all important for your marketing efforts. Saying something directly is one thing and works for some occasions, giving the whole message a little decoration and telling a stroy, at least in part, is more usual these days. You need to say it right for the audience you are trying to reach and it is all a lot better if you add something interesting graphically and even better with video.

Here are a couple of simple promos I did for projects within the entertainment world.

You can make simple promos or adverts, there is also the option of making video banners or using video backgrounds for your site. As marketing tools videos have the same range as graphics or illustrations:

they can be simply or basically informative
they can be illustrative of a product or service
perhaps they can show some new offer
they can go beyond all of such and be part of your brand storytelling

Whichever form or use they need to be a good example of what you are about. They need to have your style, or the style of those you are looking to address or attract. They need resonance.

If you want to reach your target audience it is useful to have not only the right message being put out there – you need to present it in a very particular way. Perhaps you could style it in a way that is familiar to those people or businesses. But then again, perhaps you could do something that will catch their eye, use a style that they will certainly notice. It may be something not quite so comfortable for them but gives them pause for thought. RiteTrax – Brand storytelling

For any business especially new, small businesses, getting the message out there is of vital importance. To do that it can be a great help to use a variety of images which aid in generating a brand image. Those images and the text that goes with them tell a story, we would hope, and that gives a brand not only an image, it also gives depth, texture and more. The right images for the brand and the story are, of course, crucial, also the palette used, the typography. Every image says something, every font has a character, its own story to tell.

What we are talking about here, as a case in point, is Rite Trax, a new small operation based around a collective of young and not so young people who like to perform, create and more. They provide events at a variety of locations in and around Sheffield ecompassing spoken word, live art, displayed art, live performance, dj’s, a vj and so on.
