Things never stay the same. We move on. Years ago the major things for any business were the phone book, the leaflet drop and so on. Now we have to look seriously at marketing to mobile phones and tablets, not just the basic website.
Basic rules stay the same:
- make it simple and direct
- where you are telling a story, set the scene properly
- calls to action, point to them properly, point the way
- your design should set the scene for your brand and relate directly to your targets, your target audience
- your colour palette and your typography are two of the biggest building blocks in terms of design, too much is definitely too much
